Detroit Area Marijuana Expo Draws 100 Vendors

At the fourth annual medical marijuana expo - being held through Sunday at Detroit's Roostertail catering facility - a $15 admission fee lets patrons visit the booths of more than 100 vendors of medical-marijuana supplies, including costly gear for raising the plants as well as apparel and curios that celebrate the pot-loving lifestyle.

Albion Rallies Around K-8 Distrcit

ALBION - A school bus pulled up outside Albion's First United Methodist Church on a recent Tuesday, and a handful of kids poured out. Backpacks slung over their shoulders, the students - most of them older, nearing high school age, but one of them in an upper elementary grade - were greeted at the door by an assistant teacher and an intern from Kellogg Community College.

Spring Road Construction Delayed by Weather

KALAMAZOO, MI - Road work in the Kalamazoo area will get off to an unseasonably late start this year as crews wait for warmer weather to arrive. The City of Portage will be the first Kalamazoo-area road agency to put crews to work, with a paving and sidewalk improvement project along East Milham Avenue to the north city limits slated to begin April 15.

NLRB Hits Kellogg With Lockout Complaint

The National Labor Relations Board alleged the Kellogg Co. violated labor law, it announced Friday. In a news release Friday, the NLRB alleged that Kellogg violated the National Labor Relations Act by locking out 225 employees at a Memphis, Tenn., cereal plant.
