KALAMAZOO, MI - For the second night in a row, the Western Michigan University hockey team could not protect a two-goal lead. The Broncos held a two-goal lead in the second period of Sunday's non-conference series finale against Northern Michigan, but the Wildcats rallied to play to a 2-2 tie in front of an announced attendance of 2,246 at Lawson Arena.

Ali Russo said it wasn't until her teammates starting running towards her and the crowd starting cheering that she knew what happened. Russo, a Kalamazoo Central High School graduate, scored Western Michigan University's winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Ball State in the women's soccer Mid-American Conference Tournament championship game Sunday at Eastern Michigan's Scicluna Field in Ypsilanti.

Battle Creek Pride Resource Center to open this week
