Portage School officials expect decision on arbitration with former superintendent

PORTAGE, MI -- A decision is expected by the end of June on last week's arbitration hearin g involving the Portage Public Schools Board of Education and former Superintendent Ric Perry, school board president Bo Snyder said Wednesday. Snyder also said that the board will get an update on their search for a new superintendent at the June 3 meeting.

$15.1-billion dollar education budget approved

Battle Creek firefighters to get back overtime pay

Battle Creek will pay its firefighters a quarter million dollars in back pay after an audit of overtime by the Michigan Department of Labor. City Manager Ken Tsuchiyama said Wednesday city officials met last week with labor department investigators who have been reviewing pay records since October.

Kalamazoo City Commissioners consider deadlines in city manager search
