On the eve of the Vietnam War, a young soldier learns the power of compassion when he plays a cruel joke on an unsuspecting girl. Dogfight by Benji Pasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen, The Greatest Showman, and La La Land) and Peter Duchan, is a love story about how the choices we make define who we become.

This is not a typical art fair. Professional artists are selling overstock, discontinued work, studio experiments, and seconds, giving the public access to high-quality original art at significantly reduced prices and a rare behind-the-scenes look at how artists really work. This is a one-day, indoor event, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center, so it’s an easy, weather-proof weekend plan.
Learn about an exciting footwear design exhibit and create your own unique sneaker with the KIA and Kalamazoo Public Library. This teen event will take place at the Kalamazoo Public Library Oshtemo Branch Community Room. The shoes created as part of the program will be on view at the Kalamazoo Public Library Oshtemo Branch in a special display. Materials will be provided. Future Now: Virtual Sneakers to Cutting-Edge Kicks is co-organized by the American Federation of Arts and the Bata Shoe Museum, and curated by Elizabeth Semmelhack, Director and Senior Curator of the Bata Shoe Museum.

Lace up and let’s explore Future Now: Virtual Sneakers to Cutting Edge Kicks! We’ll check out shoes from the past, super-cool styles of today, and shoes that exist only in the virtual world.
Please note that this event will not be livestreamed or posted on YouTube.Take a Wonder Walk through the galleries! The walk will include close looking at a few artworks as well as gallery games and activities. This is a great way to introduce your little one to art and the museum. Wonder Walks is for children 2-4 years old (but all are welcome) and is free with the cost of admission. Caregivers must stay with their children at all times. Preregistration is encouraged. Adults, remember to register your children!
