(MPRN-Lansing) Lawmakers and regular folks strolled past more than 70 venders at the Farmers Market at the Capitol Thursday. But while goers ogled the plethora of fruits and vegetables, 

  Kalamazoo Symphonic Musicians are enthusiastic about presenting a summer park concert on Friday night to benefit Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes and the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. Organized independently by the musicians, who recently came to an agreement after an extended dispute with KSO management, it's the first outdoor symphonic concert since 2010. Conductor Andrew Koehler says it's a "trip around the world" program featuring audience favorites by Strauss, Bizet, Copland, Puccini, and Brahms.

(MPRN-Lansing) A federal appeals court took aim Thursday at Michigan’s sex offender registry law. The court ruled on a narrow legal issue, but suggested the law may be unconstitutional. 

"Lansing — The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Thursday took legal action against a court order that Gov. Rick Snyder says is preventing the state from fully investigating Legionella cases in Flint and Genesee County." (Detroit News)
