New contract for part-time WMU faculty

Western Michigan University trustees have approved a new contract with the union that represents the university's part-time instructors. University  Board members held a special meeting by teleconference on Wednesday, March 20th, to approve the agreement. Union members had previously ratified the three-year contract.

Michigan tribe allows same-sex couple to marry

The marriage of Odawa tribesman Tim LaCroix to his spouse Gene Barfield on Friday marked the first legal same-sex marriage in Michigan. As Interlochen Public Radio reports the Odawa tribe is one of only three tribes to legalize gay marriage in the country.
