Handle ancient weapons...and learn about them too

On Saturday, Keith Nelson of Southside Dojo will give an interactive demonstration of ancient weapons and fighting styles at the Kalamazoo Public Library. He’ll show off weapons like the katana, the kind of sword you might see in a Japanese samurai movie.

Small town newspaper is historic, but still relevant

In small communities, people depend on the weekly newspaper for local news. The Paw Paw Courier-Leader carries on a long tradition that dates back to 1843. These days, obituaries are posted on their website as soon as they get them, but otherwise the pace is slow.

Bissell Sweepers company claims first female CEO in America

Years ago, the only way to clean carpets was to sweep them off with a broom and to hang them on a line and use a wire carpet beater, to beat the dust out. The next development was a carpet sweeper.
