Paw Paw Playhouse enlists more than 20 kids for "A Little Princess"

The Paw Paw Village Players will perform the musical A Little Princess starting Friday. The musical is based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett about a girl named Sarah Crewe who is sent to a boarding school in London while her father is doing business in India.

Gongwer: SoS dismisses charges against House Speaker Jase Bolger

The Michigan Secretary of State’s office has dismissed complaints that State House Speaker Jase Bolger violated campaign finance laws. The Gongwer News Service reports that that the decision was announced in a letter Wednesday to Michigan Democratic Party Chairman Mark Brewer.

WMUK General Manager Gordon Bolar was in Washington D.C. on Monday as StoryCorps launched a new oral history project. The Military Voices Initiative will help tell the stories of military personnel, veterans and their families.

Two new Trustees appointed to WMU Board

Governor Snyder has appointed two new trustees to serve on Western Michigan University’s Board of Trustees. Michelle Crumm of Ann Arbor and Ron Hall of Detroit will begin their eight year terms on the board January first. Crumm is from Ann Arbor and is CEO of Present Value LLC. 

Hall is from Detroit and is CEO of two automotive supply companies. Hall earned his bachelor’s degree from WMU.

Crumm and Hall replace Dennis Archer and Larry Tolbert, whose terms on Western’s Board of Trustees expire at the end of the year.

A preview of "Four Scenes: A Hungarian Trilogy"

 

 Fancy Pants Theater in downtown Kalamazoo opens the regional premiere of Four Scenes: A Hungarian Trilogy Friday night. The production reunites several former API Theatre professionals. Kalamazoo’s Actors and Playwrights Initiative closed its doors several years ago after specializing in innovative, original theatre.
