Red Sea Pedestrians perform with Wellspring for a one-of-a-kind show

If there’s one thing artists hate it’s thinking inside the box. But that’s not a problem for musicians from the Red Sea Pedestrians and Wellspring Cori Terry and Dancers. They’re reaching outside their comfort zones with their collaboration “Old World New,” which premieres Thursday through Sunday.

Bridging generations on Veteran's Day

Veteran’s Day, the day the nation honors and remembers those who’ve served the country in the armed forces, was set on the 11th day of the 11th month. That's the moment the guns fell silent at the end of what was then known as the “Great War” in 1918. Since then, Americans have fought in many other wars and served in peacetime. Each year an event at Western Michigan University brings veterans together with young people who are just beginning their military careers.

Fretwork to present Elizabethan age concert


The viol ensemble Fretwork, on a rare tour to the Midwest, is celebrating the music of John Dowland, songwriter, lutenist, and one of the the greatest composers of the Elizabethan age. 

Founding member Richard Boothby tells Cara Lieurance about the composer's personality and his travels and travails across the continent in the 16th century.
