PLAINWELL, MI -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has proposed a roughly $4.4 million plan to remove contaminated soil from the former Plainwell paper mill site along the Kalamazoo River. The proposed plan would involve removing soil with high levels of arsenic and other contaminants at the 35-acre site and replacing it with clean soil, according to an EPA press release.
