Vicksburg Old Car Festival Still Rollin' After 34 Years

Last year, a 1919 Studebaker was on display at the Vicksburg Old Car Festival. One can only guess what will be on view at this year's festival, taking place on June 13 and 14.

34 years ago, Skip Knowles decided it was high time to drive some attention to his adopted home of Vicksburg. And I do mean "drive."

"I've always had old cars and attended shows, and you know Vicksburg's kind of a unique little town that's not on the way to anywhere," says Knowles. "I decided we needed something to bring people to town to see what we had down there. So I thought, ’Well we’ll do a car show.’"

Kalamazoo Preschool Program Wins Big Grant

A preschool program that helps get kids in Kalamazoo ready for kindergarten has won a large grant. Kalamazoo County Ready 4's will get $542,412 from the Learning Network of Greater Kalamazoo. It says the money will be used for a program to three-year-olds and their families in Kalamazoo's Northside and Douglas neighborhoods.

WMUK at the KIA Art Fair

WMUK staff will be at the Art Fair in downtown Kalamazoo.  Our tent is on the south side of the Rotary Band Shell in Bronson Park.  Stop by to pick up one of our new tote-bags and talk with staff.  We'll be in the park until 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
