Rally Against Nigeria Kidnappings Planned for Sunday

Mothers, daughters, and members of the community are invited to a rally in Kalamazoo this Sunday to protest the recent kidnapping of more than 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria by Islamic extremist group Boko Haram.

State House Passes Road Bills

The state house has passed a set of bills that would provide the government with money for fixing roads and bridges. That’s according to Gongwer News Service, which reports the proposed legislation would deliver about $450 million to the state’s infrastructure projects each year.

Most of that amount would be raised by pulling money from fuel sales and use taxes out of the general fund.
