Running to Help Wounded Warriors

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have affected thousands of veterans. Many must cope with severe physical injuries while others grapple with emotional and psychological scars. This weekend an event at Western Michigan University will raise money for a national organization dedicated to helping them. The 5K run and walk for the Wounded Warrior Project is sponsored by the university’s Joint ROTC Community Outreach Corps.

The Color Run Adds Fun In Getting To The Finish Line

When preparing to run a traditional 5k, most runners make sure to don their best pair of shorts, most reliable shoes, and are up early to stretch out, get their race number, and are focused squarely on getting to the finish line.

But for The Color Run, which is also known as 'The Happiest 5k on the planet,' the journey to the end of the race is just the beginning.

Bravo! is a collaboration of local arts organizations including Fontana Chamber Arts, the Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival, the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Crescendo Academy of Music, WMUK-FM 102.1 FM, and KRESA - Education for the Arts.
