Portage City Council Reinstates Senior Citizen Discount on Water Bills

PORTAGE, MI - Portage senior citizens who are city water customers will get their discount back in August. The Portage City Council Tuesday, after a long discussion, reinstated the 10 percent discount on water bills for seniors who are 65 years and older.

KALAMAZOO, MI -- There are 1,400 fewer students at Kalamazoo Valley Community College this winter, compared with 2013. Enrollment has dropped 13 percent in a year, Michael McCall, director of admissions, registration and records, told KVCC's Board of Trustees Tuesday evening. It's the largest decline in at least five years.

KALAMAZOO, MI - Kalamazoo Valley Community College unveiled new site plans for its$35 million health-focused campus at its February Board meeting Tuesday evening. The downtown location would be split into North and South campuses and connected along Portage Creek by a series of boardwalks and trailways, Michael Collins, executive vice president of instructional and student support services, told the board.

Concerns Were Raised About KCC Foundation Last Summer
