Governor Snyder Unveils State Budget Proposal

Battle Creek City Manager to Step Down

Battle Creek City Manager Ken Tsuchiyama announced today he will step down, probably before the end of the month. "The Mayor and I have agreed that the Commission and I differ in our views regarding the direction of the city and that it would be in the best interests of all for me to step down from my City Manager position," Tsuchiyama said in an email to city staff this morning.

Snyder's proposed budget includes 6.1% increase for universities

KALAMAZOO, MI - Buoyed by a strong stock market and an influx of new donors, Western Michigan University had a banner year for fundraising in 2013, according to a national study released Jan. 28. The Western Michigan University Foundation saw the largest percent increase in market value of any Michigan university, according to the NACUBO-Commonfund Study of Endowments (NCSE).
