Jobless rates drop in most Michigan labor markets in April

Michigan's unemployment rate was 8.2% last month
Calhoun County's jobless rate edged down in April while its employment remained flat, according to data released Thursday. The state's Bureau of Labor Market Information reported a 6.6 percent unemployment rate for the county, down from 6.8 percent in March. That number was 7.1 percent in April 2012.

PORTAGE, MI - David Campbell, current superintendent of the Livingston Regional Education Service Agency and former head of Olivet Community Schools, has been offered a contract to become the next superintendent of the Kalamazoo RESA. The KRESA board voted 5-0 in favor of Campbell's appointment after an afternoon of public interviews with both finalists, including Curtis E.
