State ban proposed on late night fireworks

Lansing - Michigan's year-old law allowing the sale and use of airborne fireworks could be changed after it enflamed public complaints last summer because of late-night backyard blasting. State Rep. Harold Haugh, D-Roseville, introduced a two-bill package Thursday that reignited debate over the fireworks law that some lawmakers want to rein in after an outcry last year from constituents.
