KALAMAZOO, MI - Kalamazoo Valley Community College head baseball coach Cody Piechocki will be joining the Growlers' coaching staff this summer. Piechocki joins pitching coach Chris Smith and pitching coordinator Mike Ott on field manager Joe Carbone's staff. Piechocki will be an assistant coach of position players and also serve as Carbone's first base coach during game play.

PAW PAW, MI -- A Van Buren County adult has died from influenza, and cases in Southwest Michigan are on the rise, said Dr. Rick Johansen, medical director for the Cass, Van Buren and Berrien County health departments.

Three deaths in Kent County linked to H1N1 flu

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Three people who died recently in Kent County were suffering from the H1N1 flu virus, the Kent County Health Department reported Thursday, Jan. 16. The three patients were older than 50, and two of the patients had other known medical complications.
