This year’s ArtPrize is in full swing in downtown Grand Rapids. At the Western Michigan University Conference Center in Grand Rapids, a piece called “Didactic Revolvers” hangs in a room with an installation made out of plastic bags, what looks like a rotating broken canoe, and a huge uprooted tree.

Utilities in Michigan could use more renewable energy

Gender-adjusted pay not yet given to WMU female faculty

KALAMAZOO, MI - On Sept. 10, 300 female professors at Western Michigan University, who had been told in the spring that they were eligible for a gender equity adjustment, received their first paychecks of the fall semester. The promised money was not there.
