Campaign Finance Records Show Money Trail for Final Stretch

Tom Arthur/Wikicommons

Campaign finance records show two state House races in the Kalamazoo area among the most expensive in the state.

The Michigan Campaign Finance Network's examination of campaign finance reports finds that Democrat John Fisher has raised more money than Republican Brandt Iden in the 61st state House District, which includes Portage. Fisher has raised $176,000, most of those contributions have come from the House Democratic Fund. Iden has raised $120,000.

Republican State Representative Aric Nesbitt holds a fundraising advantage over his Democratic challenger Annie Brown in the 66th District, which includes Van Buren and part of Kalamazoo County. Nesbitt has raised about $183,000, while Brown has raised $135,000.
