The City of Kalamazoo wants to see more people at Kik Pool – possibly enjoying the water other ways than swimming. It’s holding a meeting Monday night to ask the public for input on what the pool should offer.

Patrick McVerry is with the city’s Department of Parks and Recreation. He says while Kik has plenty to offer swimmers, some people might prefer a water slide or a splash pad.

“Incorporation of some different water features may actually bring more people in to use the facility,” he says.

McVerry also says the pool basin needs repairs, especially for cracks in the floor. The public meeting for ideas about Kik Pool begins at 6pm Monday at the pool.
