The Comstock Public Schools will have a “STEM” academy this fall. The program approved by school board members Monday night will focus on science, technology, engineering, and math. School officials say employment in those areas is increasing much faster than those in other fields.

The academy will accept elementary students this fall. The district says it will expand into the middle school grades by 2015.
