Ex-MI Supreme Court justice heads to prison

WMUK

Former Michigan Supreme Court justice Diane Hathaway is heading to a federal prison. The Gongwer News Service reports that a federal judge sentenced Hathaway to a year and a day behind bars Tuesday. She had earlier been found guilty of hiding a million dollars in assets so she could sell of a home in Grosse Pointe Park at a favorable price.

Gongwer quotes Hathaway saying to federal judge John O'Meara at the sentencing hearing in Ann Arbor, "Your honor, I stand before you a broken person". Hathaway told the judge that she has no one to blame but herself for her predicament.
