Flutist Sara Andon To Add Movie Magic To KSO's 'Sounds Of The Season'

Sara Andon lives in several worlds as a flutist. She can be heard on countless Hollywood film soundtracks as a member of an elite group of studio players; she performs as a concert artist with orchestras around the world; she is principal flutist of the Redlands Symphony; and she teaches aspiring flutists at the University of Redlands. Tomorrow, she will be the featured soloist with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, bringing several exclusive scores of movie arrangements for flute and orchestra to the Sounds of the Season program. These arrangements come courtesy of producer Robert Townson, vice-president of soundtrack A&R for the prestigious film-score record label Varese-Sarabande. Andon and Townson previewed the concert with Cara Lieurance, discussing their collaboration and experiences in the world of film music.

The concert will also feature the Kalamazoo Children's Chorus, and two soloists from the KSO's Youth Soloist Competition: Sava Velkoff and Alex Smith. It's set for 8 pm in Chenery Auditorium, tomorrow night.
