Fontana Fest Wakes Up With Sleepy Man

Paradigm

A trio of talented teens takes over the Kalamazoo Nature Center Barn for a rootsy beginning to the 2015 Fontana Summer Festival this Saturday. Sleepy Man -Tommy, Robbie and Jonny Mizzone on guitar, fiddle/vocals and banjo - came to fame not with an agent or an album, but rather a viral video.

Four years later, the siblings have performed on talk shows and prestigious folk festivals. They've continued to develop their musical skills, adding original songwriting and vocals to their sound. Sleepy Man will open the Fontana Summer Festival on Saturday at 7:30 pm, at the Kalamazoo Nature Center Barn.

Cara Lieurance is the local host of NPR's All Things Considered on 1021 WMUK and covers local arts & culture on Let's Hear It on 89.9 Classical WMUK weekday mornings at 10 - 11 am.
