Connie Binsfeld, who serves for eight years as Michigan's Lieutenant Governor has died.
Binsfeld served in the Michigan House and Senate before serving two terms as Lieutenant Governor. She served with then Governor John Engler during his first two terms. She chose not to seek re-election in 1998.
Governor rick Snyder issued a statement saying Binsfeld "left an indelible mark on the state she so loved." Snyder praised Binsfeld's work on behalf of children and the environment.
Binsfeld died Sunday. She was 89.
