Governor Makes Seventh Trade Trip To China

(MPRN-Undated) Governor Rick Snyder is in China. He left the country Sunday for his seventh mission to China.

For nine days, Governor Rick Snyder will tour China, from Beijing to Shanghai. Snyder plans to promote Michigan business opportunities to government officials, industry leaders, and others.

The governor also plans to promote Michigan’s tourism industry. Particularly a recent law that lets out-of-state visitors drive with their homeland’s driver’s license. Tanya Baker is with Governor Snyder’s office.

“Throughout all of these Michigan has built strong relationships with China and we want to continue that.”

Along for the ride is Jamie Clover Adams -- the Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. She plans to explore possibilities for Michigan food and agriculture products in the Chinese market.
