House Republicans Reportedly Have New Roads Plan

The Gongwer News Service is reporting that State House Republicans have new plans for a road funding bill. Gongwer says that information comes from anonymous sources familiar with the details. Those sources say the idea is to raise about $1.2 billion for transportation. Half of the money would come from budget cuts and half from new revenue. That’s a lot more money than House Republicans had previously proposed raising for roads. But lawmakers apparently have not decided how they would raise money or where they would make cuts.
