Unemployment rates in the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek labor markets were down in July compared to a year ago.
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget reports the seasonally unadjusted jobless rate was 5.2% in the Kalamazoo labor market last month, down from 7.2% in Kalamazoo and Van Buren Counties in July of last year.
The unemployment rate for the Battle Creek labor market was 5.7%. The jobless rate was 7.7% in Calhoun County in July of last year.
