Kalamazoo Preschool Program Wins Big Grant

Kalamazoo Learning Network

A preschool program that helps get kids in Kalamazoo ready for kindergarten has won a large grant. Kalamazoo County Ready 4's will get $542,412 from the Learning Network of Greater Kalamazoo. It says the money will be used for a program to three-year-olds and their families in Kalamazoo's Northside and Douglas neighborhoods.

Officials say the grant will make preschool programs available to as many as 60 kids. Some of the money will go toward providing transportation and to provide facilities for the project.

The Learning Network is funded by the Kalamazoo Community Foundation and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
