Libertarian Candidate Says 80th State House Voters Should "Send A Message"

WMUK

Libertarian state House candidate Arnie Davidsons says if he is elected he "will at least be a pain in their side."

The 80th state House district, which includes most of Allegan County, is vacant because of the expulsion of Cindy Gamrat in September because of her part in covering up an extra-marital affair. Davidsons also ran for the seat in 2014.

Asked about the shooting in Kalamazoo and gun violence, Davidsons says he doesn't favor making it more difficult to buy a gun. He says it wouldn't stop someone who is determined to break the law. Davidsons says "there is no good answer."

Davidsons describes the water contamination crisis in Flint as a "disaster." He says it's important to learn lessons from how lead leached into the water so it doesn't happen again.

The libertarian candidate says the governor's office and the Legislature should be subject to Michigan's Freedom of Information act. Davidsons says he would be as open and transparent as possible if he is elected to the state House.

Davidsons says voters who agree with him shouldn't worry about "wasting their vote." "If everybody that had that thought voted for us we would win."
