Scholars and experts on the Middle Ages will be in Kalamazoo beginning Thursday.
The 51st International Congress on Medieval Studies at Western Michigan University runs through Sunday. Sessions and papers will focus on medieval medicine, mapmaking and mental illness.
There are also discussions scheduled on Game of Thrones and other depictions of the Middle Ages in popular culture.
