No Quorum at City Commission Meeting

The Kalamazoo City Commission met on Monday but had to leave voting for another day. With three members and the mayor absent the board did not have a quorum.

Commissioners Matt Milcarek, David Anderson and Shannon Sykes and Mayor Bobby Hopewell did not attend the regularly scheduled business meeting on Monday.

The city had published an agenda for the meeting, but with so many members gone it could not proceed with business such as approving a contract for single-stream recycling and making an exception for a household that wants to keep a pig.

The board did hear citizen comments before it adjourned.
