The Kalamazoo Area Transportation Study has approved a wide-ranging plan for improving non-motorized transport in the area. The Complete Streets proposal, as it’s known, applies to roads in Kalamazoo County and part of Van Buren County.

KATS, a federally-mandated planning agency, is also holding meetings next week to gather public input on how Michigan Avenue and Stadium Drive can become more foot- and bike-friendly. People can also comment on an interactive map at the KATS website.

Sehvilla Mann joined WMUK’s news team in 2014 as a reporter on the local government and education beats. She covered those topics and more in eight years of reporting for the Station, before becoming news director in 2022.
