Proposed legislation would make some marijuana dispensaries legal

The Associated Press

Proposed Legislation in the state House would make some types of medical marijuana dispensaries legal in Michigan.

MLive reports that Republican Representative Mike Callton of Nashville says his bill would allow medical marijuana dispensaries or provisioning centers to handle sales, if the local government unit authorizes them.

Last week the Michigan Supreme Court(Detroit Free Press story) issued a ruling  that gives the state broad power to shut down dispensaries. Michigan voters approved a law in 2008 to allow medical use of marijuana.
