Red Cross closing remaining Southwest Michigan shelters

WMUK

The American Red Cross says it is closing the remaining shelters and warming centers that have been open in Southwest Michigan since Sunday's severe storms.

A news release from the Red Cross says about 90 people stayed in the shelters or visited them between Monday and Thursday during the outages. Consumers Energy says most customers should have power restored by Thursday night, but those in the hardest hit areas may not have it back until Friday.
