Report Calls for New Policies to Lift Children Out of Poverty

A new report is calling for a coordinated approach to helping low-income families. 

The Annie E. Casey Foundation's report is called Creating Opportunities for Families: A Two Generation Approach calls for high-quality early childhood education, while helping parents get job training, and other tools to help them support families. 

A news release from the Michigan League for Public Policy calls for expanding the Earned Income Tax Credit in Michigan, enacting legislation that would require employers to give employees their work schedule two weeks in advance and restoring child care subsidies for low-income working families.
