State Attorney General Bill Schuette says he wants the court considering whether Michigan’s gay marriage ban can stand to put the process on the fast track.
The attorney general says he’ll seek a full-panel en banc hearing from the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. That would eliminate the need for a preliminary hearing before a smaller group of judges.
In a statement issued this afternoon, Schuette said a timely decision with minimal litigation would save citizens money.
