State regulators seek answers about massive power outages in March. The legislative session has yet to produce many new laws. WMU baseball gets a win over rival Central Michigan. 

The Michigan Public Service Commission is looking into how Consumers Energy and DTE Energy responded to massive power outages across the state due to a wind storm in March. Over a million of the utilities' customers lost power, 2,000 did not have service for a week or more. (Detroit News)

Only 22 bills have been signed into law during the legislative session that started in January. (Detroit Free Press) Most of those were part of one package on reforming parole and probation. The Republican-controlled House and Senate have split over a proposed income tax cut and other issues. (Detroit News

As Battle Creek looks to revitalize its downtown, parking is one of the main challenges. City officials are trying to plan for increased parking demand and accommodating people who visit the city's downtown. 

Western Michigan University's baseball team beat Central Michigan on Sunday 11-2. The Broncos took one of the three games during the weekend series in Mount Pleasant. (WMU Athletics
