Southwest Michigan Today For Monday August 7, 2017

Economic growth slowed in West Michigan during July. Money to rehabilitate runways at the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport. The Growlers win, while the Bombers lose their final home game of the season. 

The latest report on West Michigan’s industrial economy shows that growth slowed during July. Grand Valley State University Economist Brian Long’s monthly report shows economic indicators were still positive, but not as strong as those reported in June. (MLive)

$2.4-million in federal money will be used to rehabilitate runways at the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport. The funding from the Federal Aviation Administration is part of what is called the Runway Incursion Mitigation. (News release from Senator DebbieStabenow)

In baseball, Kalamazoo beat Wisconsin 6-1. The Growlers swept the two game series from the Woodchucks. (Kalamazoo Growlers)
