Another member of the Portage City Council now plans to run for mayor. Changes coming to parking in downtown Kalamazoo. The Growlers and Bombers both win on the road. 

Portage’s Mayor Pro-Tem Nasim Ansari says he will run for Mayor this fall, rather than seek another four year term on the city council. Ansari had announced plans to run for re-election to his council seat. But since then Peter Starzdas announced in May that he will not run for another two-year term as Portage Mayor. City Councilwoman Patricia Randall has also launched a campaign for mayor. (Kalamazoo Gazette

Upgrades to Kalamazoo’s downtown parking facilities this summer will mean several changes, among them drivers won’t be able to pay with cash when leaving a parking structure. Central Parking Services will begin work on city parking ramps in August. (Kalamazoo Gazette
