The ACLU seeks a motion in a Detroit courtroom to protect Iraqi detainees. Parts of the Upper Peninsula are devestated by weekend flooding. Kalamazoo's winning streak continues on the baseball field, while Battle Creek's ends on Sunday.

A Detroit judge will hear arguments Monday about alleged abuses by federal immigration agents. The ACLU of Michigan filed a motion last week. It says agents are threatening and harassing Iraqi detainees. The motion says detainees are told if they don’t sign a statement saying they want to return to Iraq, they’ll be criminally prosecuted and detained indefinitely. ACLU attorney Miriam Aukerman says multiple detainees have already signed the document. The detainees are Iraqi immigrants who face deportation orders because they committed crimes here – many of them years ago.

Houghton County in the northwestern Upper Peninsula has been devastated by flooding. Weekend storms created rivers out of roads and completely washed away culverts and bridges. Some buildings’ foundations were severely eroded and houses ripped apart by floodwaters. Houghton County Emergency Management Coordinator Chris VanArsdale says police are going door-to-door to make sure residents are okay. (WNMU)

In baseball, Battle Creek’s three game winning streak ended with a 9-1 loss to Madison Sunday . The Bombers will host Kenosha for a two game series beginning Tuesday night at C.O. Brown Stadium.

Kalamazoo has won six straight after a 12-8 win over Lakeshore Sunday. The Growlers begin a two game series at Green Bay Tuesday night.
