Kalamazoo Central High School's Mock Trial Team takes second in a national competition. Derek Jeter's number retired by the New York Yankees. WMU baseball gets a win at Bowling Green. 

Kalamazoo Central High School's Mock Trial Team finished second in the National High School Mock Trial Championships. The team lost to a team from North Carolina in the Final Blue Ribbon Round Saturday. (Kalamazoo Gazette)

Derek Jeter was honored for his career with the Yankees Sunday night. The number 2, that the former Kalamazoo Central High School star wore for his 20 seasons, was retired. A plaque with his accomplishments was added in Yankee Stadium's Monument Park. Jeter retired from the Yankees after the 2014 season. (New York Times

Western Michigan University's baseball team won at Bowling Green 15-7 on Sunday. The Broncos won one game in the three game series with the Falcons. (WMU Athletics

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
