An organization representing American Hindus criticizes Kellogg for not listing beef products in its ingredients. The Bombers advance in the Northwoods League playoffs. 

The Detroit area attorney who argued a case before the Supreme Court to legalize same-sex marriage is expected to announce Tuesday that she’s running for state Attorney General. Dana Nessel has scheduled a news conference in Ann Arbor Former U.S. Attorney Patrick Miles and former State House Minority Leader Tim Greimel are other Democrats also considering making a bid for Attorney General. Lawton State Senator Tonya Schuitmaker and House Speaker Tom Leonard are possible Republican candidates. (Detroit Free Press)

An organization representing American Hindus is calling on Kellogg CEO John Bryant to resign for not informing the public that some of the company’s products contain beef. The president of the Nevada-based Universal Society of Hinduism has e-mailed Kellogg asking for the recall of products that contain beef, but don’t say so on packages. (Battle Creek Enquirer

Governor Rick Snyder has issued a “statement of unity” in response to the events in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend. Snyder says that hate speech and violence are not welcome in Michigan. (MLive)

In baseball, Battle Creek advanced in the Northwoods League playoffs with a 2-0 win over Rockford. Bombers’ pitcher Dakota Smith held the Rivets to three hits while pitching a complete game shutout. (Battle Creek Bombers)
