An investigation into possible Open Meetings Act violations by a Harper Creek School Board member. Michigan Congressman John Conyers is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee. Governor Snyder tours flooded areas in mid-Michigan. 

Michigan State Police are investigating whether a Harper Creek School Board member violated the Open Meetings Act. Michigan State Police say they opened the investigation at the request of the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s office. The name of the person who allegedly did not follow Open Meeting Act procedures is not know, nor is the person who filed the complaint. (Battle Creek Enquirer

Michigan Congressman John Conyers is under investigation for possible ethics violations. The House Ethics Committee has acknowledged receiving a referral from the Office of Congressional Ethics. The nature of the allegations against Conyers are unknown. A statement from the Detroit Democrat’s office says they are cooperating with the ethics committee, (Detroit News)

Governor Rick Snyder toured parts of mid-Michigan hard hit by flooding Monday morning. The governor visited parts of Midland and Isabella counties by air and on the ground. An Isabella county official says it will take years and “tens of Millions of dollars” for her county to recover from the flooding. (Michigan Radio
