Kalamazoo Township will seek applicants for a coming vacancy on its board of trustees. Don Martin will give up his seat at the end of May to become Township Supervisor. Martin will replace Ron Reid who is retiring. (Kalamazoo Gazette

The former co-chair of Donald Trump's Michigan campaign has announced she will run for U.S. Senate. Lena Epstein will seek the Republican nomination next year. She hopes to challenge Democratic incumbent Debbie Stabenow. (Detroit Free Press

Western Michigan Outfielder Tanner Allison has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Baseball Player of the Week. The Broncos open the MAC Tournament Wednesday morning against Eastern Michigan in Avon, Ohio. (WMU Athletics
