Kalamazoo Schools could approve an agreement with the state this week to keep two schools open. A new judge is assigned to the trial of former State Representative Todd Courser. New voting machines in Allegan County coming in 2018. The K-Wings are eliminated from the ECHL playoffs. 

The Kalamazoo School Board will vote Thursday night on an agreement that would keep Washington Writers' Academy and the Woodward School for Technology and Research open. They are on a list of low-performing schools identified for possible closure. Two other districts have approved agreements with the state. (MLive)

Municipalities in Allegan County are getting new voting machines for 2018. County Clerk Bob Genetski says federal dollars will cover most of the cost. (Holland Sentinel)

A new judge has been assigned to the criminal trial of former state Representative Todd Courser. Courser's attorney asked for Judge William E. Collette to be removed from the case. Courser faces a charge of perjury related to using state resources to cover up an affair with his then fellow lawmaker Cindy Gamrat. The trial has been delayed. (MLive)

The K-Wings season ended with a 3-1 loss at Toledo Tuesday night. The Walleye defeated Kalamazoo four games to three in the best of seven series. (K-Wings)
