State of University, Academic Convocation at WMU Friday

Western Michigan University will hold its annual academic convocation on Friday and President John Dunn will give the annual "State of the University" address. 

The event begins at 2:00p.m. in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. 13 members of Western's faculty will be recognized for service and achievement. 

Awards presented on Friday are: The Distinguished Service Award, Distinguished Teaching Award, Emerging Faculty Scholars, Make a Difference Award, and Distinguished Faculty Scholar. 

Western President John Dunn's "State of the University" address will be broadcast on WMUK 102.1 FM at 8:00 Friday night. Also check back to the website later for an archived recording of the speech. 

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
