Student enrollment at Western Michigan University is down slightly this fall compared with last year.
University officials the latest numbers show a 1.5% drop. But they say the number of freshman rose slightly despite declines in the number of high school graduates. The number of graduate students at Western also increased. The university says the number of minority students rose 1.5%. Just over a fifth of Western’s are minorities.
