On this edition of WestSouthwest, the "Insider" who exposed the secrets of the tobacco industry. And growing demand has Ministry with Community planning for a new home.

  

Jeffrey Wigand was a researcher at tobacco company Brown and Williamson when he decided he couldn't stay silent any longer. His decision to share secrets the industry wanted kept and the controversy over interview for CBS' 60 Minutes was the basis for the movie The Insider. Wigand speaks at Western Michigan University April 7th. WMUK's Gordon Evans interviewed Wigand about the movie, tobacco and his current work.

Ministry with Community has been serving people from its current location on North Church Street in Kalamazoo for 30 years. But growing demand has them looking for a new home. Executive Director Rob Oakleaf explains why they're looking to move, and what Ministry with Community faces in helping people to "self sufficiency."  

Gordon Evans became WMUK's Content Director in 2019 after more than 20 years as an anchor, host and reporter. A 1990 graduate of Michigan State, he began work at WMUK in 1996.
